Grand Prix du Vin Suisse: Geneva takes Gamaret top honours !
The results of the Grand Prix du Vin Suisse were unveiled Friday 18 October, to celebrities and a crowd of 400 people from the vine and wine world, in Bern, Switzerland.
Honour to whom it is due ! Congratulations go to Marzella and René Seewer, Cave Leukersonne in Susten, Valais, who were named Winery of the Year – for the second year running!
For Geneva’s part, 7 wines were nominated for the finals: 4 from Domaine Château du Crest (a record number for the evening) and one each from Nicolas Cadoux of Domaine des Graves, Jean-David Gaillard of Domaine de la Planta and David Sossauer of Domaine des Pendus.
A magnificent finish for Château du Crest which won the Gamaret category with its 2023 vintage and for Pascadoux, Domaine des Pendus, an excellent Muscat sweet 2020 wine that won third place in the sweet wines category.
Noteworthy: the excellent overall results for Geneva at this 18th Grand Prix du Vin Suisse, with 16 gold medals and 39 silver medals out of the 2,949 wines entered, from all of the wine-producing cantons throughout Switzerland.
